Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the International Driving Authority website at idaoffice.org, our mobile applications, and the services we provide through them (together, the "Service"). By accessing the Service or placing an order you agree to this policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and DMCA & Intellectual Property Policy.

1. Scope

This policy applies to everyone who uses the Service: visitors, registered account holders, customers, and partner agents. It covers the website, our mobile applications, our APIs and order forms, and any communication you send us through support channels.

2. Permitted use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes, and only to apply for documents for yourself or for a person you are authorised to represent. Every detail you submit must be accurate, current, and genuinely yours or that person's.

If you apply on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have their permission to submit their personal data and their identity documents, and that you will pass on to them any document we issue.

3. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

submit false, misleading, altered, forged, or stolen identity or driving-licence information;
submit a photograph that is not of the applicant, or an image that has been digitally manipulated to change the appearance of the applicant or of a document;
apply on behalf of another person without their authorisation;
use the Service to obtain a document you intend to use unlawfully, including to misrepresent your right to drive;
present any document we issue as a national driving licence, as a government-issued credential, or as proof of driving entitlement on its own;
alter, reproduce, or counterfeit any document we issue, or assist anyone in doing so;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server, or network connected to the Service;
upload malware, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach any security or authentication measure;
interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through denial-of-service activity or excessive automated requests;
use the Service to infringe intellectual property rights, or to transmit unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or abusive material;
resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
use the Service in breach of any applicable export-control or sanctions law.

4. Content you submit

You keep ownership of the images, documents, and text you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that material for the sole purpose of reviewing your application, producing your document, providing support, and meeting our legal obligations. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy, which you should read before uploading.

You are responsible for having the right to submit whatever you upload. Do not upload material belonging to a third party unless you are entitled to.

5. Automation, scraping, and rate limits

Except for search-engine crawlers that respect our robots.txt file, automated access to the Service is not permitted without our written agreement. This includes crawling, scraping, harvesting content or pricing, bulk account creation, and any script or tool that submits orders automatically.

We apply rate limits and automated abuse controls. Traffic that exceeds normal human use may be throttled or blocked without notice. Search-engine crawlers that respect our robots.txt file are welcome.

6. Account responsibility

You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials confidential. Do not share your account with anyone. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use, and we will help you secure it.

7. Reporting abuse

If you become aware of a security vulnerability, a fraudulent order, a counterfeit document presented as ours, or any other misuse of the Service, please report it to [email protected]. Include enough detail for us to reproduce or locate the problem. We acknowledge reports within one business day.

If you are reporting a security vulnerability, please give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We will not pursue action against researchers who report in good faith, act only against their own account or test data, and do not degrade the Service for others.

8. Consequences of a violation

Our response is proportionate to what happened. Depending on the seriousness of the breach we may:

ask you for additional verification before we continue processing an order;
place an order on hold, or cancel it;
remove content you have submitted;
suspend or terminate your access to the Service;
refuse to issue a document, or invalidate a document already issued;
withhold a refund where the breach involves false information, in accordance with our Terms of Service, which set out when we may refuse or cancel an order;
report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities and cooperate with their investigation.

Where circumstances allow, we will tell you what happened and give you the opportunity to respond. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from the proportionate enforcement of this policy. Nothing in this sentence limits liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the date at the top shows the current revision. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
