  • In Azerbaijan, people drive on the right side of the road.
  • Drunk driving is prohibited, which means there should be 0 ppm in blood.
  • The driver and passengers are required to wear a seat belt. Children under 2 years of age and pregnant women don’t have to be fastened.
  • It’s prohibited to transport children under the age of 12 in the front car seat.
  • License plates must be readable.
  • When turning left, the driver must give the road to the oncoming traffic, as well as the tram that moves in the same direction.
  • U-turn is prohibited at the pedestrian crossing, at the railway crossing, in tunnels, as well as on the bridge.
  • There are the following speed limits in Azerbaijan: 20 km/h in urban areas, 60 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h on toll-free roads, 110 km/h on the highway.
  • It is prohibited to overtake at the pedestrian crossing, the railway crossing, in tunnels and on bridges.
  • It is prohibited to stop at tram lines, pedestrian crossings, tram and railway crossings, near intersections.
  • You mustn’t use a mobile phone while driving.
