Driving tips for Pakistan:

  • Driving in Pakistan is on the left side of the road.
  • Since Pakistan is a Muslim country, drinking and driving is prohibited. Otherwise, you may be sentenced to prison or even deported.
  • The maximum allowed speed limit on highways is 120 km/h, 80/100 km/h on public roads, 50 km/h on urban roads, 40 km/h at hospitals, schools and mosques, and 65 km/h on rural roads.
  • You should be at least 18 years old to drive any vehicle in Pakistan.
  • Keep in mind that children younger than 11 years old are not allowed to sit in the front seat. Instead, they should sit in appropriate child restraints.
  • The third-party insurance is mandatory.
  • Before making a lane change or turning give an appropriate signal.
  • Always give way to pedestrians.
  • Keep in mind that you must give way to vehicles that drive uphill.
  • Don’t throw rubbish or cigarettes out of the window.
