After six months, you will need to obtain an Indonesian driving license or an international driving license to continue driving legally in Indonesia. [3]
    • For residents:
      • Residents who obtain a long-term visa or residency in Indonesia must apply for an Indonesian driving license (SIM). Foreigners are required to take both theoretical and practical driving tests unless they qualify for an exemption based on bilateral agreements. [4]
